Marie Jones is a Belfast-based actress and playwright born in 1951 into a working-class Protestant family. She co-founded the Charabanc Theatre Company in 1983 to address the lack of roles for women, producing collaborative works that gained critical acclaim. Her play "Stones in His Pockets" was performed on Broadway, showcasing her ability to craft stories about the impact of filmmaking on small communities.
