She graduated from Atherton High School's Walden Theatre Conservatory Program and attended Juilliard, where she befriended Jessica Chastain. Notable roles include her lead in the comedy-horror film Teeth and the comedy The Big Bad Swim, for which she won a Special Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival in 2007.
