Vera-Ellen was an American dancer and actress born Vera-Ellen Rohe in Norwood, Ohio, on February 16, 1921. She became a prodigious talent, one of the youngest Rockettes at Radio City Music Hall, and went on to dance with Hollywood legends Fred Astaire, Gene Kelly, and Danny Kaye. Her film career spanned from 1945 to the late 1950s, starring in films like "White Christmas" and "On the Town." Vera-Ellen retired due to health issues and personal struggles, ultimately passing away at age 60 on August 30, 1981.
