Timothy B. Schmit

Biography

Timothy Bruce Schmit was born on October 30, 1947, in Oakland, California, and began playing music at 15 with folk band Tim, Tom & Ron. He later formed a surf band called the Contenders, which achieved local success with their Animals-inspired hit "Green Eye'd Woman" in 1965. Schmit eventually joined Poco in 1968, replacing bassist Randy Meisner, and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as an Eagles member in 1998.
