Zacharias Manuel de la Rocha is an American musician, rapper, singer, songwriter, and political activist, best known as the vocalist and lyricist of rock band Rage Against the Machine. Born in Long Beach, California, de la Rocha was raised with a rich cultural heritage, drawing inspiration from his Mexican-American and Sephardi Jewish roots. Through his music and activism, he promotes left-wing politics, opposing corporate America, the military-industrial complex, and government oppression.
