Nicolas Sarkozy was born in Paris on January 28, 1955, to a Hungarian and Greek Jewish family. He served as Mayor of Neuilly-sur-Seine from 1983 to 2002 and held several ministerial positions under Jacques Chirac. As President of France from 2007 to 2012, he faced significant challenges including the financial crisis and the Arab Spring. After his presidency, Sarkozy retired from public life until being re-elected as leader of The Republicans in 2015.
