Biography

Luis Buñuel was a Spanish filmmaker widely regarded as one of the greatest and most influential filmmakers of all time. He collaborated with Salvador Dalí on surrealist masterpieces Un Chien Andalou (1929) and L'Age d'Or (1930), before transitioning to make artful, surrealistic, and satirical films. Buñuel earned critical acclaim for films like Viridiana (1961), which won the Palme d'Or, and The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie (1972), which won the Academy Award for Best International Feature Film.
