Clytie Jessop

Biography

Clytie Jessop was a British-based Australian actress, writer, director, and artist known for her roles in The Innocents (1961) and Nightmare (1964), as well as writing, directing, and producing the 1986 Australian drama Emma's War. She formed a notable creative partnership with cinematographer Freddie Francis, who directed her in two minor horror films. A gallery owner and painter, Jessop also adopted a daughter and worked extensively in New York's off-Broadway scene.
