Biography

Tommy Ramone was a Hungarian-American musician and drummer for the influential punk rock band The Ramones from its debut in 1974 to 1978. Born Tamás Erdélyi on January 29, 1949, he later emigrated to the US with his family at age eight after escaping the Holocaust. A childhood friend of Johnny Ramone, Tommy co-founded the Tangerine Puppets garage band in high school and went on to produce music for the band before joining The Ramones as drummer.
