Roy Castle

Biography

Roy Castle was a versatile English performer born in Scholes, West Riding of Yorkshire, who began training as a tap dancer at Nora Bray's school and later turned professional as an entertainer in the 1950s. He gained widespread acclaim for his appearance on the Royal Command Performance in 1958, which helped launch his career. Castle is perhaps best known to British television viewers as the long-running presenter of the children's series Record Breakers.
