Ford Rainey was a versatile actor who began his career in the stage, graduating from Centralia Junior College and the Cornish School of Arts before studying at the Michael Chekhov Theatre Studio. He honed his craft in radio and made his film debut in 1949's White Heat, later appearing in notable roles such as T.C. van Houten in "The Cellar" (1988) and Doc Phillips in "Flaming Star" (1960).
