She began her acting career at the age of eleven and gained international recognition for her role as Patty Farrell in the Diary of a Wimpy Kid film franchise, earning five Young Artist Award nominations, including Best Young Supporting Actress in a Feature Film. MacNeil has also appeared in "R.L. Stine's Monsterville: Cabinet of Souls" and worked alongside actor Donnie MacNeil, her brother.
