Harry 'Snub' Pollard

Biography

Snub Pollard was an Australian-born vaudevillian who became a silent film comedian in Hollywood, popular in the 1920s. He began performing with Pollard's Lilliputian Opera Company at a young age and later joined Hal Roach's productions, starring in films such as It's a Gift, where he played an inventor of Rube Goldberg-like contraptions. After transitioning to talkies, Pollard continued to work in comedies and westerns, earning a spot on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. He died in 1962 after nearly 50 years in the movie business.
