Helmut Köpping

Biography

Helmut Köpping is an Austrian film and theater director born in 1967 in Graz. He was artistic director of Theater im Bahnhof from 1996 to 2006, leading the largest professional free theater ensemble in Austria at that time. Notable productions include "Contact High" (2009), adaptations of Federico Fellini's "Das Schiff der Träume" and Steven Spielberg's "Der weisse Hai", and a series of short films by Uwe Lubrich.
