Hope Summers

Biography

Hope Summers was born on June 7, 1902, in Mattoon, Illinois, to a family with notable connections. She developed an early interest in theater and graduated from Northwestern School of Speech in 1923, later becoming the head of the Speech Department at Bradley University. She transitioned to acting in the 1930s, performing in one-woman shows and radio dramas, before establishing herself on television in her late 40s, where she found regular work in comedy series and films.
