Karel Fiala was a Czech operatic tenor and film actor born on August 3, 1925, in Hrušov, Czechoslovakia. He began performing at the National Theatre in Prague in 1949 and later became a principal artist at the Hudební divadlo Karlín, known for his roles in operettas and musicals such as The Merry Widow and My Fair Lady. Fiala gained worldwide recognition for his portrayal of Don Giovanni in the film Amadeus.
