Biography

Oleksandr Khvylia was a Ukrainian Soviet theater and film actor born in 1905 to Swedish parents in what is now Ukraine. He graduated from the Vorovsky Drama Studio in 1922 and went on to work with notable theaters, including the Zankovetska Music-Drama Theater and the State theater of Moscow's cinema-actors. Khvylia was awarded People's Artist of the RSFSR in 1963 for his contributions to Soviet entertainment.
