Pedro Cardoso was born on December 31, 1962, in Rio de Janeiro to a prominent family. He left home at 18 due to "paternal guidance and youthful pride" and began working on theaters as an illuminator before debuting as a stage actor in 1980. Cardoso is best known for his role as Agostinho Carrara in the Rede Globo sitcom "A Grande Família", for which he was nominated for an International Emmy Award.
