Jermaine Dupri Mauldin, born September 23, 1972, is a renowned American record producer, rapper, songwriter, and music executive. As the son of Columbia Records executive Michael Mauldin, he began his musical career at age 9 and discovered Kris Kross in 1991, producing their hit single "Jump". He established So So Def Recordings, signing notable acts like Xscape and Mariah Carey, and has worked with multiple chart-topping artists.
