James Saxon was a charismatic English character actor born William James Smyth on June 12, 1955, in Swindon, Wiltshire. He trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and began his career in British television productions in the early 1980s, landing roles in notable series such as We'll Meet Again, Doctor Who's The Two Doctors, and Biggles: Adventures in Time. His charismatic performances made him a sought-after support actor before his untimely death at age 49 in 2003.
