Biography

Salvador Dalí was a Spanish surrealist artist renowned for his technical skill and striking images. Born in Figueres, he studied fine arts in Madrid and joined the Surrealist group in 1929, becoming one of its leading exponents with works like The Persistence of Memory (1931). He achieved commercial success in the US before returning to Spain, where he announced his return to Catholicism and developed a "nuclear mysticism" style.
