Pierre Batcheff
Biography
Pierre Batcheff was a French actor of Russian origin, born in Harbin, China, and grew up in Saint Petersburg. He gained popularity as a film actor from the mid-1920s until the early 1930s, with notable roles in Luis Buñuel's surrealist short film Un chien andalou (1929) and Georges Pitoëff's theatre company. Batcheff tragically died at an early age from a drug overdose.
