Simone Mareuil
Biography
Simone Mareuil was a French actress known for her role in Luis Buñuel and Salvador Dali's surrealist film Un Chien Andalou (1929). Born Marie Louise Simonne Vacher on August 25, 1903, she began working as an extra in films at Gaumont Studios after meeting Paul Caroux. She later married actor Philippe Hersent in 1940, but struggled with personal loss and divorce following the war. Mareuil died in 1954.
