Biography

Mario Gabriele Andretti, born February 28, 1940, is a retired Italian American world champion racing driver. He won the 1978 Formula One World Championship with Lotus and claimed victories in IndyCar, NASCAR, midget cars, sprint cars, and drag racing. A four-time IndyCar title winner and two-time Indianapolis 500 champion, Andretti's impressive career earned him numerous accolades, including being named US Driver of the Year three times.
