Gil Stratton Jr. was a talented actor and sportscaster born in Brooklyn, New York. He began his career on Broadway at 19, starring in the musical Best Foot Forward, and later became a contract player at MGM. Stratton's film debut was in the 1943 musical comedy Girl Crazy, alongside Mickey Rooney and Judy Garland.
