Biography

Lou Fleischer was a talented American arranger and composer who led the Fleischer Studios Music Department until its reorganization in 1942. He is also believed to have provided the voice for J. Wellington Wimpy in several Popeye films, although he denied being involved in this role. After leaving Fleischer Studios, Fleischer contributed to film scoring and music composition, including work with George Pal and as a piano instructor in California before his retirement in the late 1960s.
