Biography

Yevgeniya Melnikova was a Russian actress born on June 27, 1909, in Moscow to a family of modest means. She graduated from the State Technical Institute of Cinema in 1930 and began her career with roles in early Soviet films, including "The Diamond Arm" (1969), for which she received the title of People's Artist of the RSFSR in 1969. A devoted member of the Komsomol since 1954, Melnikova's career spanned several decades and theaters before her passing on September 10, 2001.
