Biography

Valéry Inkijinoff was a Russian-French actor of Buryat origin, born in Irkutsk, who rose to fame playing villainous roles in exotic adventure films and crime movies. He began his career in Soviet cinema, starring in Vsevolod Pudovkin's 1928 film Storm Over Asia, before immigrating to France in the 1930s. There, he became a favorite actor for French filmmakers, starring in numerous films throughout the thirties and beyond.
