Shane McConkey

Biography

Shane McConkey was a professional skier and BASE jumper born in Vancouver, British Columbia, on December 30, 1969. He started his skiing career at the University of Colorado Boulder before dropping out to pursue his dreams, eventually becoming known for combining BASE jumping with skiing through record-breaking feats like skiing into a BASE jump off the Eiger. McConkey's contributions to ski design included the development of reverse sidecut and camber skis.
