Kumiko Watanabe was born on October 7, 1965, in Chiba Prefecture, Japan. She began her voice acting career after being selected for a contest and making it to the final 30 at a studio audition. Watanabe attended the Japan Narration Actor Institute and joined Arts Vision, where she honed her craft before becoming a notable voice actress in titles like "InuYasha" and "Klonoa".
