Biography
Chiyonosuke Azuma was a renowned Japanese actor and dancer born on August 19, 1926, in Shinjuku, Tokyo. He rose to fame with his debut film Yukinojo henge and became a star after joining Toei studio in 1954, starring in popular works such as the "Fuefuki Dōji" and "Beni Kujaku" series during Japan's golden age of jidaigeki in the 1950s. He later transitioned to teaching dance while appearing sporadically in film and on stage and television before his death on November 9, 2000, at the age of 74.
