Maceo Parker

Biography

Maceo Parker is a renowned American funk and soul jazz saxophonist born on February 14, 1943, in Kinston, North Carolina. He joined James Brown's band in 1963, playing alto, tenor, and baritone saxophones, and was a prominent soloist on many of his hit recordings. Parker also led the band Maceo & All the King's Men from 1970 to 1972, before rejoining Brown's group in 1973, and later charted with the single "Parrty – Part I".
