Alessandra Ferri is an Italian prima ballerina born on May 6, 1963, in Milan. She began studying ballet at the La Scala Theatre Ballet School and later transferred to the Royal Ballet School, representing the school in the 1980 Prix de Lausanne and winning a scholarship. Ferri danced with the Royal Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, and La Scala Theatre Ballet, before a temporary retirement and later returning in 2013, earning the rank of prima ballerina assoluta.
