Biography

Somtow Papinian Sucharitkul, known professionally as S. P. Somtow, is a Thai-American author, composer, and conductor born on December 30, 1952, in Bangkok. He holds dual citizenship of Thailand and the United States and has won notable awards for his writing, including the John W. Campbell Award and the World Fantasy Award. As a musician, he is the founder and artistic director of Opera Siam, leading Thai premieres of works by renowned composers.
