She is known for her iconic roles as Taeko's Grandmother in "Only Yesterday" and Hedwig the Sea Witch in Saban's Adventures of the Little Mermaid. A graduate of Kumagaya High School and the Japan Academy of Arts, Kitagawa has also founded the Wagei-Sha Storytelling School, solidifying her legacy in Japanese entertainment.
