Gladys Young

Biography

Gladys Young was a prominent English actress and BBC Radio Drama Company member, best known for her role as Mrs. Bracebridge in the 1951 adaptation of "The Lady with a Lamp". Born on April 29, 1887, in Newcastle, she was educated in Germany and began her career in amateur drama before joining the BBC Radio Company in 1926. Her notable work also includes early television appearances, including a 1930 production of "The Man with the Flower in his Mouth".
