Biography

Arturo de Córdova was a Mexican actor born in Mérida, Yucatán on May 8, 1908. He became a major motion picture star in Latin America and Spain, starring in over a hundred films including American productions such as "For Whom the Bell Tolls" and "Frenchman's Creek". De Córdova won three Silver Ariel Awards and was nominated for four others, solidifying his legacy as a leading actor in Spanish-language cinema. He died from a stroke in Mexico City in 1973.
