Sgt. Stubby: An American Hero

The film follows young U.S. Army doughboy Robert Conroy as his life is forever changed by a stray Boston Terrier puppy named Stubby who wanders into camp, where Conroy gives him a name and a chance to embark on an adventure that would define a century. Despite lacking formal military working dog training, Stubby accompanies the men of the 102nd Infantry Regiment through the trenches of the Western Front in France and performs incredible acts of courage, including sniffing incoming gas attacks and catching a German infiltrator. For his valorous actions, Stubby is recognized as the most decorated dog in American history.
