A couple facing marital problems after losing their child finds their life together further complicated by a mysterious visitor, played by Milo Ventimiglia as Jonathan Dade, who is struggling to cope with his grief. Their home invasion becomes a desperate fight for survival when the intruders, revealed to be ghost hunters, target them instead of the real occupant of the house, Rachel, played by Sara Paxton. As they flee from largely invisible attackers, Jonathan and his wife Addie, played by Sarah Shahi, try to escape their haunted home.
