In a poignant and unexpected convergence, two men of faith crossed paths on the bloody battlefield during the turbulent period of Christian-Muslim conflict known as the Crusades. Francis of Assisi, a traveling Christian preacher, and the Sultan of Egypt, a ruler of a Muslim Empire, embarked on a quest for mutual respect and common ground, defying centuries of war, distrust, and insidious propaganda.
