Shirley MacLaine as Elsa Hayes introduces 74-year-old widower Christopher Plummer's character to a life of youthful enthusiasm and romance in this drama-comedy about Fred Barcroft, an elderly man who discovers it's never too late to experience the "sweet life" with his new neighbor.
