Calum Worthy stars as Adam Merkin, a progressive graduate student who becomes obsessed with battle rap after researching it for his thesis on the subject. As he delves deeper into the scene, Adam's obsession takes over his life, causing tension in his relationships and even leading him to perform dark and hurtful bars that betray the trust of his mentor, Behn Grym (Jackie Long).
