A young goatherd named Albrun (Aleksandra Cwen) lives a secluded life in 15th-century Alps Austria, where fear of witches and heathens is rampant. A traveler warns her to leave, but she's soon confronted by men disguised as goats, who accuse her of being a witch and demand she be burned. As Albrun tends to her ill and traumatized mother, the situation spirals out of control, culminating in a horrific act that drives her further into madness and paranoia. Fifteen years later, Albrun is now a mother herself, struggling with her own sanity as she's ostracized by the townspeople and terrorized by supernatural forces.
