The Candidate

Manuel López-Vidal (Antonio de la Torre) is a Spanish politician whose high-class lifestyle relies on illegal business dealings that threaten to destroy his party after a newspaper expose brings him under public scrutiny. To avoid jail time, he decides to sell out his entire party, putting many lives at risk. On bail awaiting trial, Manuel sets out to gather evidence against the real criminals, but his crusade for truth is met with skepticism by TV journalist Amaia (Mónica López). As tensions rise, Manuel's efforts collapse when he is left speechless under Amaia's attack.
