Two veterinary students, Juan Núñez (Gael García Bernal) and Benjamín Wilson (Leonardo Ortizgris), plan a daring heist at the National Museum of Anthropology in Mexico City on Christmas Eve 1985. Stealing over 140 priceless Mayan, Mixtec, and Zapotec artifacts, they escape detection but soon realize that selling the pieces won't be easy.
