Charlene deGuzman stars as Joy, a Filipino-American woman struggling with sex and love addiction, who finds recovery through music and platonic friendship with reclusive man John Hawkes' character Jim. Her journey is marked by her attempt at self-destruction and subsequent search for intimacy, which ultimately leads to the creation of music alongside Maddie (Melissa Leo).
