Can You Ever Forgive Me?

Melissa McCarthy stars as Lee Israel, a struggling writer who resorts to forgery after being rejected by her literary agent and facing financial troubles. With the help of Anna, a used bookstore merchant, Lee starts selling letters supposedly written by deceased celebrities, including Katharine Hepburn and Dorothy Parker, but things take a turn when she is blacklisted by her customers. Richard E. Grant plays Jack Hock, an acquaintance who helps Lee sell the forgeries, despite being banned from stores due to shoplifting.
