A lyrical coastal drama/mystery, "Ondine" (2009) reminds us of a bygone era's enchantment, as Colin Farrell discovers an enigmatic young woman in the water, whom his handicapped daughter believes is a selkie, a mythical being capable of changing from seal to human form. What is the truth behind this mysterious encounter? The film's atmospheric tone and Neil Jordan's masterful direction weave a tale of love, hope, and the power of myth, as Syracuse finds himself entwined in Ondine's mystical world, forcing him to confront his own demons and rediscover the beauty of human connection.
