Six forensic undergrads arrive on a deserted island to complete a scientific field exam, unaware that it was once used for illegal biological experiments on life-term prisoners. As they explore the island and examine corpses, their tranquility is shattered by a mysterious zombie that begins to stalk and kill them. The students soon discover that the island was used as a death camp, where the authorities conducted twisted experiments on the inmates before turning them into violent zombies. With limited communication and no escape, Megan and her fellow students must fight for survival against the undead hordes and confront the dark secrets of their professor's past.
