Smilla's Sense of Snow

Smilla Jaspersen, a transplanted Greenlander and Arctic ice specialist, investigates the mysterious death of six-year-old Inuk boy Isaiah Christiansen, who fell from the roof of her apartment building in present-day Copenhagen. Suspecting wrongdoing, Smilla uncovers a trail of clues leading towards a secretive corporation that has made several mysterious expeditions to Greenland, including one tied to a 1859 meteorite crash and an alleged "accidental" death at a mining operation.
